Zig-Zag Quilt along

Well I did it. I finished my zig-zag quilt border and all. No, I didnt get it quilted, that will have to wait until I get caught up with my clients quilts. :)

I think I will be doing more of these. It was fun, and now that I know what I am doing, it will be a lot easier to choose the fabrics that will show off the pattern better.

I am pleased the way it turned out. So pleased that I am using my Ricky Tims convergence fabric for the backing! I have been saving it for something special, well this is it!

My pics arent the best quality and the colors are way brighter in person, but I do like the way it turned out.

I had to add the border so I could use every little bit of what I cut from my fat quarters.
Thanks Amy for your hard work in this quilt along.

Now to get busy on my Kona Coffee Quilt for the contest in November!

Quilt Along 2- Zig Zag Quilt

I have to admit, I totally over thought this project. I had my 15 fat quarters- all different - and could not figure out how this would work. I am a visual person and really need to "see" something in order to figure it out.

So I just followed the instructions and tried to understand what we were doing. I just didnt get it tho- Until I started sewing and laying it out. Then I got it! This is where I am so far. Not sure I like it yet, but will continue. :)

Enjoying the journey!

Park City Girls new handbag!

31 : : Boxy Tote Pattern & a Giveaway!

I can't believe I've finally pulled this pattern together! I am so excited to tell you that it is in my shop right now for sale! And, I went to get interfacing at my LQS earlier - they want to sale it too! And maybe make a class out of it! I wasn't even trying to market it there yet, I had the kids with me, and thought I would come back when I had my act together :)

The giveaway - I will giveaway two copies on Monday, August 3rd. Leave a comment, and let me know what fabrics you would like to make it up with. Also, I would love to have your help spreading the word, so grab my picture and post on your blog. Let me know you posted in another comment for an extra chance.

Thanks for your help and have a great weekend!

Quilt Along 2- Zig Zag Quilt

I am doing the quilt along with Old Red Barn and Park City Girl. Dana and Amy are in this one together, With Amy leading the quilt along.
I have my fabric all picked out (still stash-busting and sticking to my goal), all ironed and ready to cut in the above pic.

Now to cut out- my favorite part! Since I am doing a lap quilt, I cut out 5" squares. Laid them out in the order I want the rows to go, and am waiting for the next step. It should be posted tomorrow.

If you want to quilt along, check out Old Red Barn Co on Flicker. While there check me out on Flicker too! Lots of fun! I am under Rose of Sharon Studio.
Happy Quilting
