Sew Much to Think About

What if we are allotted only sew much?

Only sew much-

Fabric? What if what you have is all you will ever get? I know that I would be fine. I have enough fabric to last me the rest of my life, and maybe my heirs lives too. I have enough PHD's to keep me busy every day for the rest of my life. How will I Know when I have reached my limit? Or what if I have reached my limit? I have more ideas and dreams to fill the rest of my days, but each day more come. And with those ideas, come projects, dreams, and goals. Are our thoughts limited? Do we only get so many in our lifetimes?

Stuff? We all have stuff. What if what you have, is all you will ever get? I have way to much stuff, and have been deleting stuff for the last two years. But again, I could delete stuff every year, and not run out. But if we are only allotted so much stuff for our entire lives, how do we know when we have reached our limit ? And is this feeling/thought what creates hoarders?

Time? Ah, time. The one thing we all have the same amount of every day. And our time is pre-ordained. We are only allotted sew much time. The Bible says our days are numbered. None of us know how much time we really have left. We live each day as though we have a million more, but should live each day as if it were our last one here on earth. If today was your last day, are you content with how you spent your time?

Today may be all you have because we only have sew much.
So today I think I will sew!

Quilt Festival

My friend and I exchanged Christmas cacti one year so we would each have the other ones color with our own. Two weeks later, my friend was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to have a mastectomy that was followed with chemotherapy.

A friend and client brought in a top for me to quilt and said it was a Christmas cactus pattern. I loved the pattern! I used breast cancer material, the Christmas cactus pattern (which I turned to make a cross) and added scripture in the small squares for encouragement and gave it to my friend.

When my friend went through the chemo she took her quilt, it kept her body and heart warm, and her spirit focused on getting better.

Doorway to China Pattern

I am working on my third Doorway to China quilt. I have completed two of them

And then this one. I call this one Doorway to Koi Pond.



My 3rd one is almost done. They are so fun.

If you use a panel you can fussy cut it to all match and it would look really cool. Since I made a challenge to myself to use my stash this entire year and not buy for any new project, sigh, I didn't have a complete panel. So I cheated a little on all three of mine, but I do like the way they turned out. I got the pattern free from one of my sites that I visit. I cant remember which one so I could post them there, but if you want it, I can let you know where to get it- Best of all, it is FREE!

I can't stop making them, they are more addicting than pistacios! (as Abby on NCIS would say) Well, have you only eaten just one pistacio?!?

End of Summer

I cannot believe it is the end of summer. Here in the Kern River Valley it is still in the high 90's low 100's, but the nights are cooler, and our two or three days of fall are coming.
I also have some more finished tops! I haven't really been finishing up my previous projects as planned, but started and finished several new tops this summer. Here are my two latest.
