Quilt Along 2- Zig Zag Quilt

I have to admit, I totally over thought this project. I had my 15 fat quarters- all different - and could not figure out how this would work. I am a visual person and really need to "see" something in order to figure it out.

So I just followed the instructions and tried to understand what we were doing. I just didnt get it tho- Until I started sewing and laying it out. Then I got it! This is where I am so far. Not sure I like it yet, but will continue. :)

Enjoying the journey!

  1. I am a visual person also....maybe you can show a block or two while putting them together. I was going to do this quilt along, maybe still will. Thanks,

  3. My aha! moment came after I sewed the 1/2 sq triangles together, cut them, ironed them flat, then laid them out. They make 2 rows. I know that seemed easy to some, but I couldnt make out the pattern until I realized (read saw :) them laid out) that they made 2 rows. Then since I chose 15 different fat 1/4's, I had to make the zigzag that combines 2 different fabrics a simular value to get the effect I need. The more I look at it the more I like it. Will do the other rows this weekend and will let you know.
**Using values Light and Dark is important. :)
